LANEIGE: Water Bank Hydro Essence and Hydro Mist Review

Hey lovelies, I'm back with a new post this month and this time I'll be reviewing my all time favorite Korean skincare brand which is Laneige. In today's post, I'll be talking about the NEW Water Bank Hydro Essence and Hydro Mist. Let's go!

The stars of the day: Water Bank Hydro Essence (70ml)  and Hydro Mist (70ml)

NEW Water Bank Hydro Essence

It claims to be a hydrating essence that is enriched with Green Mineral Water from vegetables for a moisturized and healthy looking skin. I bought this because I love how light the texture of essence is and it absorbs very quickly into my skin, at the same time providing the hydration my oily skin needs. Well, if you can’t eat your greens every day, at least you can apply them on your face daily. How cool right?

What makes this new water bank hydro essence different from their old existing water bank essence? First of all, it is made from green mineral water that is extracted from kale, watercress and beetroot that can immediately fills moisture into skin. Secondly, it can provide deep moisture into our skin due to their extraction with patented ocean blue processing method. Next, garden cress is rich in anti-oxidant, making our skin looking more radiant and clear. Lastly, the essence acts like a “Water Zipper” to prevent moisture from evaporating from the skin that will enable long-lasting hydration to the skin.
Suitable for normal to combination skin

The Water Bank Hydro Essence is suitable for those with normal to combination skin whereas people with dry skin should try the Water Bank Moisture Essence instead. I personally have oily skin and it's important to take note that even though your skin is oily, you still need to supply your skin with enough hydration. If your skin lacks moisture, the skin will secrete more sebum in order to compensate the lack of moisture in your skin. Ultimately, your skin becomes more oily and the excess sebum secreted will block your pores and cause formation of whiteheads and blackheads that will eventually turn into acne. So guys, never ever forget to apply a hydrating essence or serum and moisturizer! Let's take a clearer look at its packaging.

It comes in a glass bottle and a pump enclosed with a transparent cap
I really love the packaging because it's very hygienic. There is very less contact with skin and the essence is contained in a beautiful blue glass bottle. You too can easily control the amount of essence pumped out.

The texture of the essence when applied on skin and after it absorbs into skin
The essence has a quite watery texture and is white in color. It feels very light on skin and absorbs really quickly into my skin. I love how it calms and soothes my skin immediately upon application after toning my face. My face is  instantly moisturized leaving my skin looking smooth the next morning when I wake up. I've been using this essence for about 2 months and I'm very glad that it did not break my skin out. It is not oily at all and has a mild and pleasant tropical scent. If you're looking for an essence that has a light texture and moisturizing, then this is the right essence for you! It is also very suitable for use daily (day and night), especially in hot and humid country like Malaysia.

How to use:
After using skin refiner and emulsion, dispense 2-3 pumps and apply on the cheeks, forehead and chin. Gently spread the content to the rest of the face.

Order of skincare:
Face cleaner > Toner / Skin refiner > Emulsion > Essence > Serum > Eye cream > Moisturizer > Sleeping mask

Moving on to the review of Water Bank Hydro Mist.

NEW Water Bank Hydro Mist

The Water Bank Hydro Mist is a mist made from green mineral water extracted from vegetables that strengthens and moisturizes the skin barrier. Similar to the Water Bank Hydro Essence, the Hydro Mist is extracted from kale, garden cress and beetroot that will refill the skin with hydration that last all day long.

The mist comes in a plastic bottle and has a fog spray.

The fog mist pump which is made in France instantly pumps moisture to dry and fatigue skin by delivering fine particles to the skin. Also, with the patented ocean blue processing method, it provides instant deep moisture to the skin.

How to use:
Whenever your skin feels dry, spray onto the face from about 20-30cm away with your eyes closed

The fog mist pump delivers tiny particles of mist to the skin that enhances absorption into the skin.

I love using this mist because my face is instantly moisturized with just 2-3 pumps. I also love how it cools down my heated skin during the hot and humid days. The fog mist pump which is made in France delivers micro particles of mist onto my skin and I can hardly feel them on my skin when I pump it. It feels so light and refreshing. I also love to apply the mist after my makeup application for a more dewy finish. You can also spray a few pump right after applying your toner to prep your skin for the next skincare application.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post and find this review useful for your future purchase of Laneige products. The retail price of the Water Bank Hydro Essence is RM179 whereas the Water Bank Hydro Mist is priced at RM56. That's all from me! Bye!
